New Unicorn painting, Photos coming next week!

I've never been too much into fantasy art. However, when I was a child I used to stay at my Aunt's house and I would sleep in a small cozy clean guest room there. In that room, on the wall above the bed was a poster of a unicorn standing in a crystal clear creek in the deep forest. Since I lived in Las Vegas as a child, I remember staring at the poster with awe. The green trees and the water was so magical to a desert kid like me, even more magical than the unicorn, in fact. I remember how mesmerized I was by the rendering of the creek, water so clear you could see the pebbles and sand through the transparent surface. I have no idea who the artist was and since then I have tried to search for the print on google several times with no luck. Several months ago the image returned to my mind and I decided to search for it again. Once again I couldn't find it anywhere. So I decided that I would just have to go ahead and make it myself, using my vague hazy memory. Memories can be pretty unreliable, especially after decades roll by, but I definitely had the felling the art gave me, as a guide to go by. And after all that is the important part. So I began the painting this September. I started out doing the outlines and layout in some rich browns. Then I set the piece aside until early November, doing two other paintings in the meantime. I have never done anything as realistic or detailed as this and I really wanted to give it my best. I am extremely happy about how well it came out. I can honestly say that this painting turned out to be everything I had hoped it would be and I am very excited to share it with everyone later this week when it is varnished and Pia takes proper photos of it.
As a side note for a bit of magic.... I haven't had contact with my Aunt's side of the family since I was about 12 years old. I am now almost fifty. One of the nights last week while I was sitting in the studio painting on the unicorn... One of my cousins found me and messaged me on Facebook, then another cousin and the next day my Aunt. Is it the magic of the Unicorn? A very interesting coincidence!
